The Accreditation Team has entered the 2nd Year and new officers were elected this past August for one-year terms. As KCA is a participant in ACSI’s STAR program, we are hopeful to complete the 3rd tier of a “5 tier process” later this year.
If you are affiliated with KCA and would like to join this committee, please contact Phil Morrison, Kelley Hurt, Paula Jennings, Trish Huff, or Mrs. Eichman.

Our teachers are working on extensive reports for our next STAR submission while the committee is gathering information on demographics and financial statistics necessary for future tasks associated with Step 1 of the ACSI STAR program. Our faculty members have developed excellent Christian Education Philosophy statements for each subject and are working diligently to define grade level learning goals for each subject.
The satisfaction surveys filled out by KCA family members at our annual Thanksgiving lunch reveal high levels of satisfaction* in the following areas:
Moral values of families reinforced at school (4.9)
Curriculum that clearly teaches and integrated biblical world view (4.9)
Class sizes that enable optimal learning environments (4.9)
A spiritually nurturing environment (4.8)
Positive teacher student relationships (4.8)
Students who feel loved and are treated with respect (4.8)
* Based on a 5 point scale with 5 representing the highest degree of satisfaction and 1 being the lowest.

We would like to thank each of you who participated in our survey. They revealed that most families entrust their children to KCA because they desire a Biblical foundation, Christian values, and a challenging academic environment that will spread the Word of God in Callaway County.
At our faculty in-service on the Philosophy of Christian Education our faculty discovered that KCA’s core values lack “humility” and proposed this addition to the Mission statement.
In light of our recent evaluations of the KCA handbooks, suggestions from the faculty, and the results of our survey we recently requested that the board make some changes to the handbooks. The most significant changes approved were:
- the addition of a Philosophy Statement
- the addition of an Educational Philosophy Statement similar to one in the teacher handbook
- the Purpose Statement was replaced by one that reflects by-laws and includes educating children
- the creation of a new Vision Statement
- the addition of School Wide Learning Results which were altered from the teacher handbook.
We will get the handbook updated on the web very soon since reprints will not be made until February.
Our faculty is working diligently on the next phase of ACSI STAR program which will define subject and grade level goals for the entire curriculum.
ACSI STAR Step 1A was successfully submitted and accepted.
